| Fabric Options: |
  |
| Cordura Nylon Canvas
| Cordura nylon is a tough fabric that is generally long lasting, however it can be hard to clean as hair tends to stick to the texture of the fabric. Cordura is water proof and will puddle if rained on |
| Ballistic Nylon
| Ballistic nylon is the second most durable fabric available. Similar to Cordura, but it is easier to clean; hair does not adhere to it, and it dries faster. Like Cordura it also puddles when rained on. |
| Vinyl Weave
| Vinyl weave is a porous, easy to clean, quick drying fabric. It is the least durable fabric available so replacements are more frequent than the other materials. |
| 40 oz. Vinyl
| 40 oz. vinyl is the most durable fabric available. It is easy to clean with a sponge. Animal shelters report outstanding durability with this material. |
Additional Product Information:
Q. How are Kuranda beds chew-proof?
Any place the fabric is in a position to be chewed, it is protected by a poly-resin sleeve. There are no corner gaps to bite. Once in a while a dog will bite through a leg or side piece but it is quite rare. This image shows how the fabric fits into the frame of the bed so your dog cannot reach the fabric. Caution: Fabrics are vulnerable to tearing by persistently scratching or digging dogs.
Q. Can dogs dig through the fabric?
A determined digger or scratcher can eventually make a hole if he or she works on one spot. For diggers we recommend 40 oz vinyl but please be aware even this exceptionally durable fabric can be scratched thru.
Q. Which bed is best?
All depends on the dog. Wooden beds look nice and are quite comfortable but are not for chewing dogs or outside use. The all aluminum is our strongest and most durable but most around the home dogs will be fine on either the poly or metal beds. For boarding kennels and shelters we recommend the poly resin or all aluminum framed beds.
